Dual Enrollment & Enrichment Program

The two programs available for high school students through Harrisburg University. First, start with our Enrichment and Exploration Programming that we run during the summer, where students can take one to two-week long courses that encompass a STEM learning program that also aligns with our college bachelor's programs. They can go from anywhere from Aquaponics, Forensics, Computer Science, and they get a little inkling of that information and excitement by learning from our faculty in those week-long sessions. If they're really passionate and interested in it, then they can take on the second level with college in the high school and dual enrollment, where they can work with faculty and earn actual college credit for courses that they take on campus. The average student it's taken to complete a four-year bachelor's degree is 5.5 years. Statistically, any student who takes college credit while in high school that bumps down to about 4.1 years. So it's academically preparing the students for life in college. I really think any student who has the opportunity to take dual enrollment or enrichment while they can take full advantage of the opportunity. It really does give great insight if you're not quite sure where you want to do as a career opportunity to "Hey, does this really interests me?" And it really is very advantageous whenever it comes to getting you prepared for life as a college student after high school.
