Experiential learning at HU is a really important aspect of your academic career. While you're here, you get to take the knowledge that you've gained in all of your other courses and apply it to an external experience. Experiential learning is incorporated into HU's curriculum through Project One, Internship, and Project Two. So with Project One, you develop a research project. The internship, you get a position outside of the classroom to kind of get you that hands-on experience. And then Project Two is taking your research from project one and applying it. I am actually in my internship. Currently, I'm working with a nonprofit out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, focused on the underserved communities and giving them opportunities to gain career skills through eSports. A lot of the experiences that students get either lab-based or field-based, we're using some of the latest tools. For example, in our Geospatial Technology Program, we want to use Trimble GPS software because that's used in 80 to 90% of the industry laboratory experiences. These faculty really want the students to have the hands-on experience that they're going to need when they go to a job. And oftentimes on the resumes, they're listing out these specific cutting-edge tools that they're using, so that employers know that they've had that experience.
